Sir Terry Pratchett, author of fantasy novels, died yesterday. If you were a fan of his, I'm sad for you. Many people loved his tales of Discworld and other places that he imagined. Me, I'm sad about his death because he campaigned for the Right to Die after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

It's a few weeks now since Jackson's mother Hazel and his boyfriend Aaron helped him to die. I quite like the way this story is being told but some of it really makes me notice that I'm watching a television soap. (Serves me right for doing that, perhaps!) ( cut for length )

Andrew Colgan, the man with multiple sclerosis featured in Terry Pratchett's documentary 'Choosing to Die', continues to be discussed. A few weeks ago this was published online.

This comm is about anything to do with portrayals of disability. It isn't just about the Right to Die but that particular topic happens to be on my mind because I'm working my way through Terry Pratchett's documentary about it. So on that topic, I'm grateful to the LJ Friend who showed me this.
